Overview

Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Manchester

Shift: Rotating shift, 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts, Days and Nights 7-7 (am/pm)

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join their Engineering team. The Multi Skilled Engineer is an onsite fast paced role that will be responsible for working as an active part of their cross-functional maintenance team. The successful applicant will have excellent electrical and mechanical engineering skills, along with strong organisational skills, to be able to successfully function the site CMMS system. They will work within the Engineering department and will have a thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work with a proven track record of fault finding. The successful candidate will have good communication skills being able to mentor and coach other engineers and production operators.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of site breakdowns and provide quick diagnosis with corrective action.
  • Actively use the CMMS system to provide detailed reports.
  • Ensure Health and Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are followed at all times.
  • Adhere to good working practices and complete planned maintenance to a strict schedule.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and support site efficiency targets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement to reduce waste and maintenance spend.
  • Assist in training fellow maintenance engineers and operator-technicians as needed.
  • Take an active role in learning and development and project work.

Qualifications

  • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Skills in electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding experience.
  • 18th edition electrical certification.
  • Ability to mentor and coach other engineers.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience would be beneficial.
