Catering Assistant (Band 2) Causeway Hospital Location: Causeway Hospital, Coleraine Band: Band 2 Hours: 30 hours per week (Mixture of AM and PM shifts: 7am1pm or 1pm7pm, MondayFriday) Contract Type: Temporary Agency Cover Duration: 06/08/2025 to 11/08/2025 Access NI: Enhanced Access NI Check Required Job Summary Total Care Recruitment is currently seeking two reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join the team at Causeway Hospital , working under the Northern Health and Social Care Trust . These positions are required to cover short-term staffing needs due to internal retirement and promotion. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and beverages to patients and staff. Ensure that kitchen and service areas are clean, hygienic, and well-maintained. Follow strict food hygiene standards and safety procedures at all times. Work collaboratively with other catering team members to ensure timely service. Handle food products with attention to allergen awareness and dietary needs. Adhere to infection control protocols, especially in light of COVID-19 measures. Maintain records in line with departmental procedures as required. Working Pattern Shift Options: Morning Shift: 7:00 AM 1:00 PM Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM 7:00 PM Days: Monday to Friday only Pattern: Will include a mixture of both AM and PM shifts Essential Criteria Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or food service role (desirable but not essential). Willingness and ability to work early morning and evening shifts on rotation. Enhanced Access NI clearance (to be completed if successful). Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. Mandatory Training Requirements Candidates must either hold or be willing to complete the following training: COSHH Health, Safety & Welfare Infection Prevention & Control (including COVID-19) Fire Safety Food Safety & Allergen Awareness Dysphagia Awareness Why Join Us?
