Project Manager – Civil Engineering
My client is a regional civil engineering contractor with a growing order book seeking an experienced Project Manager within the South West Region.
The client has been established for over 10 years within the civil engineering sector, working on some of the most prestigious schemes with well-known clients across the UK, maintaining a strong pipeline of work with a low staff turnover.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the business results of the project
- Project organisation and definition and regulation of responsibilities
- Communicate all project requirements to the project team
- Set and agree challenging stretch targets for all team members
- Establish communications with Client/Representative
- Organize the flow of information between the whole integrated project team members and third parties
- Implement the management system within the project team
- Lead HSQE management
- Approve Project IMS Plan and appoint duties
- Evaluate opportunities and risks
- Organise planning management
- Establish procurement deadlines
- Review and revision of contract programme
- Establish works packages
- Cooperate in the awarding of contracts to sub-contractors and suppliers
- Contract management and supervision of project progress
- Responsible for project controlling
- Change management process
- Collaborate in the recruitment of staff
- Identify and coordinate training requirements
- Represent the project to internal stakeholders with period commercial and delivery reporting
Ideal Candidate:
- Degree/HND in Engineering
- Previous experience as a Project Manager on highways projects
- Commercial, Financial, Project and Programme management experience
- Excellent leadership and tendering skills
- Good level of numeracy and IT skills – MS Office, Word, Excel etc
- Strong team player who is self-motivated and able to communicate with people at all levels
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
