We are looking for a Financial Controller with experience of working in FCA Regulated Broking/Trading environments.
This role provides experienced accounting & co-ordination on a variety of key finance operations for a significant number of the UK businesses and overseas legal entities within the Group.
The person in this role will be responsible, as part of a team, for the accurate and timely delivery of all day-to-day finance operations for all assigned legal entities including management reporting and statutory accounting.
We are looking for a qualified accountant who is proficient in delivering results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can collaborate effectively across the wider finance team and with senior stakeholders across a number of functions.
Assist the CFO in leading the UK finance function, identifying ways to increase efficiency and growth opportunities.
Identify and support improvements within the business.
Lead and develop a team of assistant accountants to ensure all reporting requirements are met and provide support and guidance to help develop team members.
Oversee end-to-end finance operations for in-scope entities.
If you have any exposure to ICARA, that is highly preferred, to refine and develop an internal capital and risk assessment (ICARA) process for non-interconnected investment firms and non-SNI firms.
Transaction reporting
Responsible for the timely production of monthly management accounts and related management information, including P&L, balance sheet & cash flows for in-scope entities.
Review & challenge all the monthly management accounts, supporting schedules & reports, understanding all key movements.
Thorough review of the balance sheet and balance sheet reconciliations, providing commentary and analysis where needed.
Drive continuous improvements to financial processes, automation reporting, and controls.
Assist in ensuring all statutory reporting deadlines are met for in-scope entities, including annual accounts and tax filings.
Manage the audit process of the in-scope entities, liaising with external auditors and preparing schedules for auditors as required.
You must have a professional finance qualification in either ACA / CIMA / ACCA.
• Strong technical financial experience, preferably within a complex global company
• Proficient in producing, understanding, and interpreting complex/technical information clearly and concisely for both finance and non-finance audiences
• Demonstrable experience of developing a deep understanding of financial results, including P&L drivers, balance sheet results, business metrics, and other key trends
