As a Project Architect at HDR, you will work on projects in various sectors, focusing on Data Centre and Mission Critical projects. You’ll collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors across our Global Practice, primarily in the United Kingdom and European regions.
In the role of Project Architect for Data Centres/Mission Critical , we count on you to:
- Apply knowledge of technical design concepts, design management skills, digital technologies, and workflow
- Perform layout and detailing on architectural projects
- Establish owner/client and internal meetings; participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
- Manage and execute design activities and produce design documentation
- Conduct work sessions at project sites with the Project Manager and other disciplines
- Review architectural documents for conflicts with other disciplines
- Perform QA/QC and technical reviews
- Write and edit architectural specifications
- Coordinate with disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
- Incorporate changes into project documents
- Provide construction contract administration as needed
- Perform other duties as required
Required Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field
- Registered Architect (ARB Registered)
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiar with related tools and processes
- Experience in preparing and laying out architectural contract documents and specifications
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Graphic presentation skills
- Understanding of various building contracts
- Knowledge of building regulations and planning skills
- Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Data Centre/Mission Critical projects
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills
- Ability to manage workloads efficiently
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp, and 3D Studio Max (not required)
- Experience with Rhino and Grasshopper
