We are recruiting a Shift Manager for our growing Production team at our site in Royton, Oldham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills as you ensure health and safety expectations, production output, quality and efficiency are achieved on your shift, motivating and developing your team to achieve and exceed results.
Our Shift Managers work a rotating 3-shift pattern, AM, PM & Nights.
Your daily tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Team Management – Leading and motivating a production team to achieve targets, maximise line efficiency, minimise cost, and safeguard safety and quality, managing daily SOR meetings to foster open communication and build a collaborative team environment.
- Shift Management – Managing daily staffing levels, including holiday requests, ensuring crewing sheets are completed accurately, and that the available resources are communicated to all departments.
- Performance Management – Communicating daily and hourly line performance targets to the production team in a professional and focused manner, taking responsibility for meeting these targets.
- Team Development – Using the performance management framework to develop members of the production team, ensuring all team members are trained to perform their assigned tasks and sign-off documentation is completed and verified.
- Compliance – Ensuring all legal and company regulations and compliance standards are adhered to, including health and safety and environmental standards, and liaising with the Quality Department to ensure all QC procedures are communicated and adhered to.
- Liaising with Departments – Working collaboratively with various teams – including Engineering, Quality, H&S, Stores, and HR – to deliver the best possible production efficiency.
- Previous supervisory experience in leading and mentoring a team of at least 20 people
- TPM/lean manufacturing knowledge and application
- Previous experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment
- Problem-solving skills
- You will ideally hold qualifications in people management and health and safety
