Overview
Office dogs, fridge full of beer, AI, free fruit, office scooters (wtf!?), beanbags, slides, Blockchain, fuseball, ankle length trousers with white socks, spectacles with no lenses, braces and beards. By trying to be different to other \’disruptive\’ companies in Manchester, you actually end up being exactly the same as everyone else…

We therefore have a unique opportunity to work for a company who have genuine, real world Engineering challenges for a company with their own identity and a leader in their field. They don\’t need office yoga and sleep pods to attract good talent. It\’s an opportunity for people who are more excited by solving complex platform issues and building world class systems, than playing guitar heroes with Dave from accounts when you\’re a little bit bored. You just won\’t get bored.

Responsibilities
You are offered the opportunity to build from scratch a multi tenanted Kubernetes Platform in GCP. You\’ll work in a cross functional capacity and be dropped into different product teams when necessary for specific sprints, as well as sitting within a common platforms team building awesome consistent platforms. The work is varied, the projects come along quickly, and the scale is huge.

You will have the opportunity to build infrastructure as code with Terraform and will be able to solve complex platform issues with your coding ability with Go/Python/Java etc. You already understand what an SRE is and what DevOps principles really mean.

Your book collection may contain O\’Reilly SRE books, Accelerate, Continuous Delivery or The Phoenix Project. As well as being hands on, you\’ll have the ability to run workshops with product teams on things like metrics, how to deploy services and educate them on the benefits of utilising Kubernetes and GCP.

Benefits
The company are already thriving, they\’re not looking over their shoulders at VP and their application is being used by millions of users. It\’s a fun and rewarding environment for someone who thrives on a challenge.
