HR Manager – Learning & Development (6 months PAYE assignment)

Join our client as an HR Manager in a temporary 6 months PAYE assignment, to lead, develop, and design learning and development opportunities for their staff. The successful candidate will play a leading role in performance management and employee relations, and will be responsible for recognition awards and line management of the HR team members.
Key facts
- Full time, temporary contract – 6 months PAYE assignment
- Hybrid working pattern: home based combined with minimum 2 days a week in the London office
- Gross Pay rate (PAYE) ranges from £29.26 per hour + holiday pay to £32.91 per hour + holiday pay
- Hours : Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 0900 – 1700
NB: this is an urgent role and candidates must be immediately available or on a very short notice period
The role
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Direct line management and appraisal of HR staff members.
- Ensure all staff are appropriately trained and oversee staff development.
- Lead on learning and development, payroll, recognition awards, and performance management systems.
- Support the review and modernisation of management practices to ensure effectiveness.
- Contribute to organisational development by initiating and supporting continuous management development programs.
- Assist the Director of HR in developing and implementing strategies for engaging with senior managers and employees.
- Manage and develop the HR system.
- Oversee the payroll process alongside the Senior HR Coordinator.
- Develop and maintain staff induction and performance management processes.
- Create and maintain a Learning and Development Strategy aligned with current and future needs.
- Develop the annual learning and development program.
- Identify and address learning needs across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Full membership of the CIPD.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law.
- Commitment to equity and diversity issues.
- Experience in a learning and development management role or team leadership role.
- Experience of managing a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- Experience of managing learning and development.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Experience with multiple learning methodologies, eLearning tools, LMS platforms, and ideally some experience with SharePoint.
- Experience of managing HR projects from inception to completion.
- Experience of policy and procedures development.
