As a Commissioning Manager, you will be part of an organisation that is 100-percent employee owned, supporting and creating opportunities for you to advance, succeed, and fulfill your career aspirations.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary objective of our Commissioning Managers is to ensure that the processes involved in the commissioning of engineering services systems are diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, and recorded.
- Ensure that our commitments to clients are delivered on time, with the required level of detail and quality.
- Utilize the company\βs management systems effectively to achieve the primary objective.
- Provide consultative advice on commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programs, and scopes of work.
- Proactively progress commissioning activities throughout the project cycle in conjunction with the General Contractor and Vendors.
Additionally, at all times:
- Engage with other members of the company to help improve existing systems and procedures.
- Act as a Champion in areas of specific technical interest.
- Promote the company and the wider group through marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Always act safely in compliance with the company\βs health and safety policies.
- Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally.
- Ensure technical compliance and high-quality production of deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients and General Contractors to develop commissioning strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Adopt the company\βs project and management systems to ensure full commissioning of building services as per contract documentation.
- Maintain awareness of project finances and control expenditures.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Prepare reports with technical content and progress updates.
- Develop project-specific commissioning management and validation documents.
- Review drawings, manuals, and technical submittals critically.
- Create project-specific method statements and test scripts.
- Report internally on project scope changes.
- Evaluate progress, difficulties, and costs with the professional team.
General Duties
- Arrange test instrumentation in advance for testing.
- Assist in developing tender submissions.
- Accurately complete timesheets weekly.
- Support colleagues proactively in their tasks.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor\βs Degree in engineering or equivalent; significant project management experience is essential. Membership of CIBSE, ASHRAE, or similar is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in project or commissioning management within building services. Familiarity with quality and environmental policies. Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong communication skills, client-focused, flexible, resilient, and results-oriented. Leadership qualities or aspirations are a plus.
- Self-motivated, professional, resilient, and committed to continuous self-improvement.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Customer-focused with a proactive approach to service enhancement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, fostering supportive relationships.
- Confident, logical communication skills, capable of engaging attention.

Required Qualifications
- Willingness to travel to site locations as required.
- Experienced engineer, licensed PE or field technician with strong understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, T&B processes, etc.
- Good computer skills, including typing and familiarity with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of design documentation, multidisciplinary design delivery, and construction services.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations, contracting, and business operations.
- Knowledge of project accounting and financial management tools.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
