Overview

We’re looking for a commercially minded and detail-focused Product Specialist to join our Buying team. You’ll work closely with the Category Manager to guide the development of our rug collections from your assigned country of origin – working with suppliers from Turkey, India, China and beyond. This role sits at the heart of product development combining manufacturing knowledge, trend insight and team collaboration to deliver a commercially successful, well-balanced range.

We’re Purpose-Driven. Since 1984, we’ve grown to become the largest in our sector and we’ve carried the same spirit with us every step of the way. We’re proud of our diverse, passionate team and the way we collaborate to make things happen. Our carefully crafted rugs are the centrepieces that bring rooms and people together. And that togetherness is the very essence of who we are.

You’ll Grow With Us. You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of regional production techniques, collaborate across departments and build a strong foundation in product strategy and commercial performance. Whether you’re supporting new launches or identifying range improvements, we’ll support your growth at every step.

Your Voice Matters. We value people who bring insight, ask smart questions and offer ideas that make things better. If you’re someone who cares about getting the details right and works well with others, you’ll help us shape products with real purpose and appeal.

Bring your Flair. You’ve got a good understanding of how products are made and sold. You enjoy working with others to turn big ideas into working ranges, and you know how to balance creativity with commercial thinking. You’re structured in your approach but flexible when needed and you’re always looking for what’s next.

Responsibilities

  • Managing product development from start to finish – from briefing suppliers to getting samples approved and ranges launched.
  • Working closely with our product team, admin support, suppliers, and wider business to keep projects on track.
  • Problem-solving when challenges pop up (because they always do!).
  • Keeping an eye on data – tracking sales, identifying risks, and spotting opportunities.
  • Supporting the Category Manager to deliver ranges we’re proud of – on time, on margin, and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Being the glue that holds the product process together – keeping everything moving, tidy, and organised.

What You’ll Bring

  • Someone who genuinely loves product – from the first spark of an idea through to getting it in customers\’ hands.
  • A natural organiser who thrives on juggling projects, solving problems, and keeping things moving.
  • Great attention to detail – you\’re the person who spots the typo or the missing piece.
  • A team player who’s always up for supporting others, sharing ideas, and collaborating.
  • Someone who’s commercially minded – you get how product decisions impact sales, margin, and customers.
  • Positive, proactive, and ready to roll your sleeves up.

Even Better If You Bring

  • Experience working with suppliers, especially internationally (but not essential).
  • A background in product development, merchandising, buying, or something similar.
  • Confidence with data – whether it’s sales reports, trend analysis, or tracking product performance.
  • A creative eye – whether that’s in design, product aesthetics, or trend spotting.
  • Curiosity – someone who loves learning, improving, and thinking ‘how could this be even better?’
