Job Description
Heat Network Manager
Keeping homes warm and energy costs fair — this role sits at the heart of a growing residential portfolio. You'll lead the delivery and compliance of communal heating networks, ensuring residents get efficient, transparent, and well-managed services.
Role Overview:
- Location: Borehamwood
- Package: £40,000 (negotiable) + benefits
- Need to be onsite 5 days a week
- Industry: Property management / Energy services
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing the full operation of communal heat networks across multiple residential buildings
- Ensuring accurate billing, fair energy usage allocation, and robust cost reconciliations
- Tackling arrears and energy debt prevention with a proactive, resident-focused approach
- Overseeing third-party billing partners to ensure accurate metering, billing and support
- Keeping all heat services compliant with Ofgem, Heat Trust and industry standards
- Collaborating with finance, operations, and site teams to solve technical and service issues
- Leading on customer service for all heat network-related enquiries and complaints
- Driving continuous improvement in heat efficiency, reliability, and future compliance readiness
Main Skills Needed:
- Strong knowledge of communal/district heat networks and related billing processes
- Hands-on experience with energy regulation (Ofgem, Heat Trust) and financial reconciliation
- Comfortable working cross-functionally across technical, finance and customer teams
- Solid analytical skills with Excel fluency and strong attention to detail
- Clear communicator able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience from housing, building services or property/block management is a real plus
