Ward Manager – Acute Inpatient Mental Health
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £47,300 – £53,700 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-Time | 37.5 hours per week
A well-respected independent mental health service based in the Chelmsford area is seeking a passionate and experienced Ward Manager to lead a dynamic and multidisciplinary team on an adult acute inpatient ward. The Role:
As Ward Manager, you will take full clinical and operational leadership of a busy acute ward. You will be a visible, proactive role model for nursing staff, supporting a culture of safety, compassion, and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional leadership and daily clinical oversight to the ward team

Requirements:
- NMC-registered nurse (Mental Health)

- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Able to lead by example and build cohesive, high-performing teams

- Experience within adult acute inpatient mental health services
- Familiarity with CQC standards and clinical governance procedures
- Experience supporting service users with high acuity or complex presentations
