We’re looking for an experienced and driven Membership Manager to lead the growth, engagement and retention of UK and international members at the Royal Entomological Society (RES).

You’ll be responsible for developing and delivering an ambitious membership strategy, working across the organisation to ensure their individual and organisational members see real value in being part of a global community. After three years' of successful membership growth (46%), this role offers you the chance to help further expand their member numbers whilst launching multiple new schemes and enhancing their presence in various continents (travelling to international conference a couple times per year).

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead membership planning, including recruitment, retention and engagement strategies
  • Manage the full membership lifecycle using CRM systems and data insights
  • Oversee the administration and promotion of awards, grants and bursaries
  • Develop campaigns and materials to communicate membership benefits
  • Analyse data to inform decisions, improve outcomes, and track progress against targets
  • Line-manage a team member and work closely with colleagues across RES
  • Represent the Society at events and build external partnerships to expand reach

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in membership, customer engagement or related role
  • Proven success in growing and retaining a membership base
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Data-led decision maker with excellent CRM and reporting skills
  • Experience developing campaigns and coordinating member communications
  • A collaborative team player who can work across departments and with stakeholders

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a key function within a growing, purposeful organisation. You’ll be part of a small, supportive team and enjoy benefits including flexible working, generous leave, a pension scheme, international travel and health support plans.
