About the Client:
We are working with an international art gallery, with locations in the UK, France and the US. With circa 100 employees worldwide (50 in London) this is an exciting place to work for someone with prior HR experience ideally from an international environment.

About the HR Manager Role:
This is a fantastic HR Manager opportunity which will be hands-on and, reporting to the HR Director based in Paris. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for the London team
  • Manage sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
  • Oversee the hiring, onboarding, and day-to-day support of interns
  • Enhance the onboarding journey and overall employee experience
  • Ensure adherence to UK employment legislation, engaging external advisors where required
  • Prepare employment contracts, keep accurate employee records, manage absences, and coordinate with the external HR provider
  • Manage workforce planning, absences, and hybrid working arrangements
  • Oversee performance reviews, disciplinary processes, and employee exits
  • Handle potential legal matters, working with lawyers, solicitors, and relevant stakeholders
  • Support, coach, and appropriately challenge managers on performance, conduct, and accountability
  • Assist managers in defining clear roles, responsibilities, and priorities
  • Embed company values into everyday behaviours and ways of working
  • Maintain clear, practical HR processes while ensuring alignment with group HR policies
  • Coordinate occasional social or team-building initiatives

Candidate Specification:

  • Prior HR generalist experience is required – ideally from a boutique, highly entrepreneurial international environment within the creative sectors
  • Employee Relations and Manager coaching experience is required
  • Candidates will ideally be CIPD qualified or hold a Masters degree in HR, however candidates without qualifications who hold very relevant experience will be considered
  • Discrete and professional
  • Experience of working closely with management or Founders, ideally within creative organisations.

Additional Information:

  • Salary up to £50K depending on experience and the role comes with good benefits including 24 days of annual leave, medical insurance and pension salary sacrifice scheme
  • Hours are 9:30am – 6pm with flexibility required due to working with French and US offices
  • 1 day WFH
  • Additional French language skills would be beneficial but not required.
