Our continued success is dependent on attracting and retaining the top talent in all areas of the business. We now have a vacancy for a Finance Assistant (Cashiering) to join our Finance team. The Finance team consists of a Finance Director, Finance Manager, Financial Accountant, Credit Controller and 4 Finance Assistants. This role reports to the Finance Manager and will share responsibility for the daily banking transactional activity of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining complete and accurate bank account records
- Keying, posting & co-authorising of electronic payments to cut-off times
- Liaising with colleagues (including professional staff) and branch banking teams to record receipt of transactional funds
- Posting client cash to ledgers, direct debits & supplier payments
- Reconciling multiple bank accounts (daily)
- Treasury (moving funds between banks to ensure appropriate funds)
- Resolving queries with other banks, solicitorβs firms, clients and government organisations
Other Duties
- Organising & maintaining a busy general accounts mailbox
- Collaborating with team members to ensure emails are actioned
- Providing cover & support for other members of the team as required
Experience:
- Essential β 2 years working in a busy transactional role requiring a high degree of accuracy with cut-off times
- Essential β Cashiering or Bookkeeping (Legal background desirable)
- Essential β working within a finance team
- Essential β working with MS Excel, Outlook & Teams
- Essential β working with computerised accounting software
- Desirable β working within a Regulated environment
- Desirable β working within a Professional Services environment
- Desirable β working with foreign bank accounts
Skills & Abilities:
This role covers a broad spectrum of both accountancy and administrative activities and consequently requires an individual that has initiative and the ability to operate across a diversity of tasks.
