Deputy General Manager – Automotive Logistics

Location: Thorne, South Yorkshire

Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum + £3,900 Car Allowance

Are you an experienced leader looking for your next career move in the automotive logistics industry? We are seeking a Deputy General Manager to join our team at a leading Vehicle Distribution Centre in Thorne, South Yorkshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, supporting operational teams to implement effective improvement plans.
  • Develop and manage a resource planning model to assist in informed decision-making on labour and subcontract requirements.
  • Act as the second-in-command, deputising for the General Manager during absences and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Standardise operational processes and introduce best practices across multiple sites.
  • Deliver quality-driven processes, innovation, and operational excellence while reducing waste and optimising efficiency.
  • Research and recommend operational improvements, including layout enhancements, IT system solutions, and resource planning strategies.
  • Provide strategic Quality and CI support across the network, aligning operations with customer KPIs and maximising financial benefits.
  • Maintain regular communication and reporting, including verbal, written, and monthly presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
