Mechanical Engineer β Full-Time | SurreyWeβre looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to keep sites running at their best. This is a hands-on role where youβll combine technical expertise with problem-solving to maintain and improve critical building systems.Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repairs β Deliver planned preventative maintenance and respond to urgent breakdowns across multiple sites.
- Equipment Care β Service and maintain air handling units, fan coil units, pumps, and other mechanical plant equipment. Typical tasks include seal changes, bearing replacements, and alignment work.
- Installations & Upgrades β Support the installation of new systems and equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Emergency Response β Participate in the on-call rota, providing fast, effective solutions to unplanned issues.
- Problem Solving β Diagnose faults, propose fixes, and oversee safe and timely repairs.
- Contractor Supervision β Monitor external contractors on site, ensuring compliance with our standards.
- Technical Support β Act as the go-to person for complex mechanical challenges, providing expertise across building services.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Engineer β Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or HVAC.
- Proven Experience β Strong track record in building services and mechanical maintenance, particularly with pumps, seals, bearings, and alignments.
- Communication Skills β Ability to produce clear reports, records, and job sheets using both paper and digital systems.
- Extra Knowledge β Understanding of building management systems (BMS) or electrical systems is highly desirable.
- Driverβs Licence β Full, clean licence required for site travel.
