Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team where your expertise will directly support the business in securing valuable planning consents and driving forward land opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation and submission of residential and mixed-use planning applications across multiple regions.
- Appoint, coordinate and manage external consultants, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Review consultant reports to ensure cohesion across all disciplines, producing efficient and robust application packs.
- Support pre-application meetings and consultations with Local Planning Authorities and stakeholders.
- Monitor planning regulations, identifying potential impacts on projects and sharing knowledge with internal teams.
- Project manage planning applications, from inception through to determination and appeal (if required).
- Support the negotiation of S106 agreements and planning conditions in collaboration with the team.
- Track progress using appropriate reporting tools, ensuring leadership teams are updated at key milestones.
- Support post-planning stages, ensuring sites are prepared for disposal and development.
Requirements
You will have proven experience managing planning applications in residential or mixed-use development. Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead consultant teams and deliver within deadlines is essential. You will be personable and a confident communicator, liaising with local authorities, landowners, agents and wider stakeholders. Chartered status (MRTPI) or working towards this would be advantageous.
