About this opportunity
We have an opportunity for a skilled Warehouse Technician/FLT operator based at our Botcherby site located in Carlisle (UK) which is one of Crown’s biggest plants in Europe. This is an exciting time to join Crown; Planned ends volume for 2025 is currently 5.5 billion, we expect this to rise to over 8 billion with the planned investment and with 3 can lines installed as well; our capacity is in excess of 1.5 billion cans with the potential to grow further.
Our Botcherby plant operates a continuous shift pattern, the hours for this role are 12 hour shifts, 2 days 6-6, 2 nights 6-6 and 4 days off.
Key accountabilities will be:
Ensuring safe execution and process all dispatches and inbound deliveries at the Botcherby Site, including handling FLT movements for finished goods, dispatch items, materials, packaging, machine parts, and miscellaneous items.
Maintain complete SAP traceability for all scannable items, ensuring accurate location tracking for stock integrity and consumption. Implement strict first in, first out material rotation practices to optimize inventory management.
The ideal candidate should have:
An RTITB/IPAF counterbalance Forklift licence
Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Demonstrated ability to follow detailed procedures and strict safety protocols.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills for maintaining accurate records.
Physical ability to perform manual tasks
The ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues and other team members.
Basic IT literacy and familiarisation with Microsoft office applications.
Preferred:
Basic understanding of traceability systems in a manufacturing environment – Training offered
Prior knowledge of working with SAP WMS systems would be advantageous – Training offered
