Purpose
Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team, you will drive the company\’s specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) between aircraft and terminal building. Vehicles range from minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy goods vehicles. Full training and instruction will be provided. You will also assist PRMs onto aircraft seats or into ABM vehicles or terminal buildings, involving passenger and manual handling techniques.
Other driving duties may include bus driving on the airfield, transporting airport and airline passengers. These jobs do not require a PCV licence.
Full training will be provided for all vehicles. The role operates mainly airside, but you may be required to work in any areas the business deems necessary. It offers a regular daily routine with occasional variations.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet, maintain operational reliability, report any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.
- Drive company vehicles ensuring safety and security at all times.
- Operate vehicles safely near aircraft using all safety systems.
- Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle.
- Deliver or collect passengers at the aircraft door, assist with transfer into seats or wheelchairs using safe manual handling techniques.
- Perform Customer Care Agent duties within the terminal when required, including escorting passengers through the terminal/security, boarding flights, meeting arriving flights, and assisting PRMs through baggage reclaim.
- Update Allocator on job progress using PDAs and radio.
- Observe all Bristol Airport airside driving requirements.
- Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required.
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles is an advantage.
- Ability to carry out any reasonable task requested. Roles may vary with demand.
- If you have spent more than 6 months in any country other than the UK in the last 5 years, you must obtain a police clearance covering the full date range of the stay in each country before interview.
