Cory operates the Transfer Station at Cringle Dock in addition to its existing Transfer Stations operated on behalf of the Western Riverside Waste Authority (Smugglers Way), City of London (Walbrook Wharf), Tower Hamlets (Northumberland Wharf) and Barking.
We are currently recruiting for a Night-Shift Operative to add to the team at Smugglers Way. The role holder will provide an important role that directly contributes to the daily working and smooth running of the Transfer Station through various operational duties and responsibilities.

be part of a team operating (and being responsible for the safe operations of) the plant and equipment and to carry out daily safety and maintenance checks.

assist vehicles delivering waste in order to keep queuing of waste delivery vehicles to a minimum. ensure ISO containers are loaded to their optimum capacity.

regularly inspect containers for capacity and report any defects.

control as far as possible odour, dust, noise, and litter within the transfer station and to ensure all parts of the Transfer Station are kept in a clean and tidy condition.

take care for the health & safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by the individuals acts and/or responsibilities.
The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

Previous experience of working at a Transfer Station would be an advantage but is not essential

Previous experience with container cranes, grabbing cranes, and mobile plant (such as loading shovels and 360 material handlers) is highly desirable

Willing to work weekends
