Leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a £40M new build care home scheme in Surrey. The project involves the construction of 112 traditional build homes and requires strong leadership from inception through to handover. Candidates with a trade background will be at an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the project to ensure completion on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Act as the main point of contact with the client, providing regular updates and maintaining strong relationships.
- Direct, mentor, and support project staff in line with contractual, regulatory, and construction requirements.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring all site teams perform to the required standard.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, driving efficiency and productivity across the site.
- Deliver progress reports, monitor performance, and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Promote continuous improvement, streamline processes, and ensure a seamless service to the client.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to the ongoing development of project teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification in a trade, construction, or site management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor.
- SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS accreditation required.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale residential schemes.
- Strong commercial awareness with cost control and construction planning expertise.
- Proficiency in project planning tools (MS Project/Powerproject) and MS Office.
- Experienced in leading project teams and managing subcontractors effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance.
