Business Development Manager (NPD Consultancy)
Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 + Bonus
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
A leading UK-based product development consultancy is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join its growing commercial team. You'll play a key role in expanding market presence, generating leads, and building strong client relationships across the UK.
This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on sales execution. You'll represent the company at industry events, develop client relationships, and collaborate with internal technical teams to win high-value consultancy projects.
We're open to candidates based in or near Edinburgh (with hybrid working) or fully remote (UK-based) for those with relevant consultancy experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and qualify B2B leads through LinkedIn, events, and outreach
- Build brand awareness in new and existing markets
- Attend and network at key industry events and tradeshows
- Collaborate with internal technical teams to prepare project proposals
- Manage CRM and pipeline with strong follow-through
- Identify relevant sponsorship and membership opportunities
- Deliver engaging presentations to potential clients
Ideal Candidate
- Experience in business development or sales
- Background in Business, Design, Engineering (Mech, Elec, Software) or Life Sciences
- Experience working with B2B clients in medical, scientific, or commercial sectors
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, CRM systems, and LinkedIn outreach
