The Opportunity

Reporting into the People Director, the HRBP will lead the day-to-day effective operations of the HR function by initiating, developing and delivering a comprehensive range of diverse HR management activities. Support the company’s business strategies and foster a high-performance culture whilst employing HR best practice with full compliance in line with company policies, procedures and relevant legislation. In collaboration with the People Director, assist, develop and execute the HR plan aiming for a high-quality HR service and establishing the function as a trusted partner to the business. Address a wide range of HR / people matters including coaching line managers on ER related activities, onboarding, succession planning, career development, performance management, employee wellbeing and rewards programs.

This role will initially be for a fixed term contract of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Employee Relations including but not limited to performance reviews, disciplinaries, grievances, leave arrangements and benefit plans.
  • Coaching, guiding and leading Line managers both informally and formally through Employee Relations cases.
  • Strengthening employee engagement, retention and continuous improvement through effective feedback processes.
  • Fostering strong relationships across teams and ensuring timely communication at all times.
  • In collaboration with the People Director, conducting Training Needs Analysis and identifying appropriate training / coaching and development initiatives to address capabilities and skills requirements across the workforce. Identifying appropriate training provider / forum / service to deliver on topics identified.
  • In collaboration with the People Director actively contributing to ongoing and future MA activities to include but not limited to, managing the process of data integration onto HR platforms, overseeing payroll and making sure all of the data is correct, being involved with any TUPE procedure, implementing new benefits and discussing any performance concerns.
  • Collating, producing and managing data in response to ongoing requests from across the business (eg trends of exit interviews, stay interviews, sickness, performance etc).
  • Line management responsibilities for administration resource in the HR team.
  • Managing all HR policies and ensuring they are legally compliant, current and up to date – ensuring they continue to support business needs and requirements.
  • Create a strategy for all internal (non-business) workstreams (wellbeing, ED&I, Esprit, Employee Champions) to aid the company objectives i.e. reducing sickness levels, retention, employee engagement etc.
  • Responsibility for HR service delivery.
  • Member of functional working groups as required.
  • Responsible for overseeing payroll administration.
  • Responsible for Employee Handbook policy implementation and implementation of Line Manager’s guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsible for reviewing and adapting HR policies and procedures in line with ongoing Business needs and requirements.

About You

  • Proven experience in delivering effective and efficient HR services across all aspects of the HR function
  • Ability to support senior leaders and line managers by advising and coaching on HR best practices across a full spectrum of HR-related issues
  • Experience in ensuring all relevant HR documentation is current and legally compliant for each entity globally
  • Ability to implement updates in line with legislation and ensure policies and procedures are fit for company purpose
  • Expertise in providing guidance to all stakeholders regarding employee relations queries and issues, including disciplinary and grievance, performance management, and sickness absence
  • Experience in managing a cost-effective benefits offering as part of the company remuneration package with the ability to negotiate with suppliers and make recommendations for improvement
  • Skills in recommending, designing, and implementing initiatives that will improve overall service delivery of the HR department to maximize achievement of company objectives
  • Experience in managing an effective training provision to meet company needs
  • Experience partnering with the Finance department to provide monthly payroll information accurately with skills in processing all promotions, pay reviews, and bonus payments
  • Ability to provide and analyse HR data and reports as required
