The opportunity: We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Trading Underwriter to join our team, specialising across Property, Casualty or Motor lines of business. This is a fantastic opportunity to underwrite both new business and existing accounts, helping us achieve sustainable, profitable growth while building strong relationships with our brokers and customers.
You’ll bring a strong technical mindset, sound market awareness and the confidence to make informed, commercially astute decisions. Whether it’s assessing risk, negotiating terms or supporting broker development, you’ll play an important role in delivering high‑quality insurance solutions for our customers.

What you’ll be doing
- Underwriting and managing new business and existing accounts across Property, Casualty or Motor.
- Reviewing, analysing and assessing risk submissions to determine appropriate coverage, terms and pricing.
- Conducting research and gathering information to support high-quality underwriting decisions.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across underwriting and insurance professions to ensure consistent and accurate practices.
- Building and maintaining strong broker and client relationships to support long-term profitable growth.
- Keeping up to date with market trends, regulatory changes and underwriting best practice.
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience underwriting within Property, Casualty and/or Fleet, ideally with exposure to new business.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex information.
- Excellent attention to detail and confidence making informed decisions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach.
- Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines and work both independently and as part of a broader team.
- Knowledge of relevant market regulation, guidelines, and underwriting tools/systems.
