Respiratory Therapist – Whittier Rehab Hospital – Bradford
Part-Time, 20 hour Weekend Day
Base Pay: $36.00 – $40.00
Differential offered for evening, night, and weekend shifts
Per diem shifts also available
Here at Bradford, we are equipped to provide complex medical treatments and procedures to patients who are acutely ill, have multiple complications, and require specialty care and continuous monitoring within our 25-bed LTACH unit. We have a Joint Commission Certified Pulmonary Program and excel at weaning and decannulating patients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate as a trusted member of the patient care team as the subject matter expert to drive patients to their goals
- Provide individualized evaluation, documentation, treatment planning implementation, and goal determination under the direction of a physician.
- Perform all modes of respiratory care, including mechanical vent maintenance and weaning, ABGs, oxygen and aerosol therapy, airway maintenance (including capping of trachs and trach changes), pulmonary hygiene (CPT, cough and deep breathing, suction), and maintenance of all respiratory equipment including compressed gas delivery systems and arterial blood gas instruments.
- Dispense respiratory medication as ordered by a physician, with awareness of drug effectiveness, side effects, and contraindications.
- Apply geriatric and rehabilitation knowledge and skills to patient care.
Prerequisites:
- B.S. or A.S. in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current licensure by the Division of Registration, Board of Respiratory Care, Commonwealth of MA.
- Certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- Knowledge, experience, and competency in dealing with adult rehabilitation and geriatric age groups.
