Opportunity for Laboratory Technician Our client is a 3rd largest soft drinks manufacturer and they are looking for the Laboratory Technician to join theirs team you will support the Laboratory Supervisor with the following: Maintenance and organization of the laboratory and stock raw materials. Assisting and supporting the Development team in delivering new products Key Responsibilities Organise the lab, ensuring labelling, materials, and fixtures are correct and of appropriate grade. Maintain good order in the laboratory, including equipment use, cleaning schedules, quality systems, and procedures. Conduct daily key equipment calibrations for development work. Liaise with contract companies to ensure cleaning, maintenance, and waste disposal procedures are followed. Create, maintain, and monitor lab cleaning and equipment maintenance schedules. Liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate stock rotation and record incoming materials for traceability. Maintain records of ingredients, processes, and procedures for full traceability of all products. Conduct all work with good laboratory practice. Write and review procedures, instructions, and guidelines relevant to daily lab work with the support of the line manager. Assist and support continuous improvement of the NPD organization, processes, and ways of working. Report significant variations and faults to the area owner and line manager. Proactively identify areas for improvement within the lab. Product Development: Reliably produce samples in the lab (concentrates, emulsions, and finished products) and support Scientists in recording production of samples and analytical results. Support Scientists in executing scientific/technical work on development projects. Validate and record samples or batches made in the lab. Independently operate lab equipment required for NPD delivery. Primary Interactions Internally: NPD Team, with some interaction with other departments such as Sensory, depending on requirements. Externally: Ingredient suppliers, equipment suppliers, Material Lab suppliers. Qualifications and Professional Experience Technical education or Bachelor of Science in a food-related science field (Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Engineering). Demonstrated laboratory skills within a food/beverage setting would be advantageous. Key Competencies and Skills Basic knowledge of R&D processes. Support Scientists in all assigned roles and responsibilities. Follow good laboratory practices. Ability to organize tasks relevant to the NPD process and laboratory performance. Basic knowledge of beverage design and manufacture. Seek continuous improvement. Accurate, persistent, organized, and able to manage workload.
