Shape how our brands show up — and stand out — across platforms.

Social media is where brand meets audience instantly, publicly, and at scale.

We’re looking for an experienced, audience-obsessed Director of Social Media to guide how Bauer Media shows up across platforms. This is a group-level leadership role, focused on strategy, enablement, and performance uplift across multiple markets and verticals from audio to content, competitions to commercial campaigns.

You won’t manage a central social team. Instead, you’ll act as a strategic partner and capability builder, working closely with local teams, and aligning social efforts with commercial, performance, CRM, content, and product goals.

This is your chance to make social not just part of the mix, but a leading force in how we attract, engage, and convert audiences across the UK and Europe.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Define a scalable group-wide social strategy that aligns with brand, content, and business goals.
  • Equip local markets with strategic frameworks, content planning tools, and executional playbooks.
  • Run capability workshops and strategic sessions to elevate in-market performance and consistency.

Commercial Value & Proposition Development

  • Collaborate with Commercial teams to shape social-first campaigns, branded content formats, and innovation pilots.
  • Ensure social has a clear and measurable role in the customer journey, from reach to engagement to conversion.
  • Feed audience insights and platform trends into campaign planning and creative development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align with Performance Marketing to integrate organic and paid strategies and amplify key commercial moments.
  • Work with CRM & MarTech to embed social touchpoints into lifecycle strategies.
  • Partner with Content, Product and Data teams to reflect audience intelligence and maximise channel impact.
  • Define performance frameworks across reach, engagement, referral, conversion, and brand uplift.
  • Translate analytics into insightful, actionable advice for local teams.
  • Build feedback loops that enable ongoing improvement and creative excellence.

What we’re looking for:

  • A senior social strategist with extensive experience in social media, digital content, or audience growth, preferably within media, publishing, entertainment, or platform-led brands.
  • Deep platform expertise across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, and an understanding of how content travels across them.
  • Experience working with decentralised or regional teams coaching, guiding, and empowering them with the right tools and strategies.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to partner with commercial and marketing teams on monetisable content formats.
  • A creative and analytical thinker who knows how to blend brand storytelling with performance impact.

Why this role matters:

In a world of scrolls, swipes, and soundbites social is where our audiences live.

This role ensures we don’t just keep up, we lead. With a clear vision and strong enablement, you’ll elevate our social presence across platforms and across markets.
