Technical Manager – Food Manufacturing

Are you ready to lead quality and food safety to the next level? We’re searching for a Technical Manager with bold ideas and a passion for best-in-class standards to lead our client\’s high-performing team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the site’s technical and compliance strategy, overseeing HACCP, TACCP & VACCP systems and maintaining audit-ready standards at all times.
  • Ensure full compliance with BRCGS standards and the technical codes of practice for major UK retailers.
  • Manage and inspire a multi-functional team across Quality Assurance, Hygiene, and Technical, fostering a proactive food safety culture.
  • Own and oversee allergen management, microbiological testing, label and pack compliance, and traceability systems.
  • Be the site lead for all third-party, customer, and regulatory audits, always ensuring exemplary readiness and continuous improvement post-audit.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, NPD, Procurement, and Commercial teams to ensure technical alignment from concept to consumer.
  • Drive innovation by implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, reduce risk, and improve efficiency.
  • Be a visible technical ambassador for the site—communicating clearly with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to uphold trust and integrity.

What you\’ll need:

  • Experience in a leading technical or quality position in the food industry
  • Experience facing into major retailers
  • Experience in managing a team at this or a similar level
  • Own transport
