What does the role involve?

Working as part of our Technical Control team you\’ll be part of a sub team of circa 7 colleagues who are responsible for the authorisation of maintenance across the entirety of our HGV fleet. You\’ll use the 1Link system to communicate with our suppliers/repairers to ensure that proposed maintenance is reviewed and approved/challenged accordingly, with the overall aim of reducing costs for our customers and minimising the downtime of their respective fleets.

Some of your key duties will include:

  • Authorising all expenditure on the fleet up to authorised level, liaising with suppliers, internal teams and using our systems as a reference to decide on levels of repairs before authorisation
  • Handling incoming customer calls and mailbox queries, answering general enquiries regarding maintenance control matters, progressing and resolving these as appropriate
  • Contributing to driving improvements in whole-life costs through understanding the reasons behind the costs and support the implementation of plans to address root causes
  • Ensuring customers are frequently updated with the progress of their repairs in a polite, friendly and concise manner

What are we looking for?

To be considered for this role you\’ll need to have a good technical understanding of HGV\’s, ideally holding a technical qualification (i.e Level 3 City and Guilds/or equivalent) that backs up your hands on experience. You\’ll join us as someone who now enjoys a more desk based role or are looking to make that transition out of the workshop and use your skills to the benefit of Novuna and our customers.

Also, we\’re looking for the following:

  • 1Link experience would be highly desirable
  • Comfortable using IT systems to navigate for information and keep accurate records
  • The ability to manage a workflow of job authorisations within a timely manner
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with suppliers and customers via the telephone
