What does the role involve?
Reporting to our Group Tax Manager, as a Tax Analyst, you\’ll support our Group Tax function with a focus on compliance and reporting.This is a brand new role in our growth journey at Novuna as we expand into Europe and broaden our reporting requirements.
The successful candidate will work in an agile, friendly and supportive team of 3, which sits in our wider Group Finance team. There will be lots of opportunities to learn new skills and you\’ll acquire knowledge through training, mentoring and coaching. You\’ll also have exposure to a range of stakeholders from different areas of Novuna which will give you a good understanding of how the business operates and a chance to make a difference.
Some of your key duties will include:
- Developing a wider understanding of tax and learning processes and tasks from other members of the team
- Preparation of VAT submissions, quarterly and annual corporate tax forecasting, reporting and disclosures
- Assistance with key employment taxes filings in the UK, including forms P11D and the PAYE Settlement Agreement
- Working with stakeholders across the business, becoming the main contact in respect of certain tax compliance and tax reporting tasks
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
What are we looking for?
You\’ll be good with numbers and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy. You\’ll have a degree in a relevant subject matter (e.g. finance/accounting/law) or equivalent qualifications/work experience. You don\’t have to have come from a tax background, we are looking for individuals with strong numerical skills and the desire to learn and develop a career in tax.
Also, we\’re looking for the following:
- Excellent proficiency of MS Office Suite, in particular, Excel. Exposure to tax specific software (e.g. Alphatax, Onesource,etc. ) or accounting systems would be a bonus!
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with others to deliver solutions
- Ability to translate complex jargon clearly for different purposes and to different audiences
