Job Description

The primary objectives for the Swimming Teacher include:

  1. Delivering group and one-to-one lessons across various ages and abilities, following the Swim England’s Learn to Swim Framework.
  2. Providing high-quality lessons aligned with company standards and schemes of work.
  3. Delivering internal water safety competencies such as “Swim Safer, Smarter, Stronger”.
  4. Explaining and demonstrating swimming techniques both in and out of the water.
  5. Assessing and updating child\’s progress via tablet after each lesson.
  6. Adhering to all health and safety protocols.
  7. Holding an NRASTC qualification and conducting own sessions when required (training provided).
  8. Participating in professional development through company-hosted CPDs.
  9. Maximizing swim school participant retention through quality standards, motivation, and customer care.
  10. Maintaining strong communication with team members and management.
  11. Continuously seeking ways to improve the swim lesson programme and service quality.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification.
  • SEQ Level 2 Swimming Teacher Qualification or equivalent.
  • NPLQ or NRASTC (training can be provided).

Personal Characteristics

  • Effective communication with children and adults.
  • Ability to gain acceptance and respect from colleagues and customers.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility in working hours as required.

Additional Requirements

The position is regulated and requires a DBS Disclosure, which must be obtained.
