About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our supportive team at a specialist secondary school in Hertford. This is a permanent, term-time-only position (39 weeks), starting in September 2025.
As a valued member of our school community, you will work closely with students with a range of needs, including SEND and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), supporting them both in and out of the classroom to access learning, regulate their emotions, and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with a variety of SEND/SEMH needs.

Implement personalised learning and behaviour support strategies in line with students\’ individual education plans.

Assist teaching staff with classroom management and lesson delivery.

Support students in developing their social skills, confidence and independence.

Contribute to the overall pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
About You:
Essential:

Proven experience of working with SEND and SEMH pupils in a school or specialist setting.

Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure.

A caring, patient and positive attitude, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable:

Relevant qualifications in SEN or behaviour management.

Experience in a secondary school environment.
Salary:
H5 Range: 22,589 – 24,483 (actual salary)
