Job Title: Experienced PMLD Learning Support Assistant Sector: Education and Training Location: Kempston Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Weekly Salary: £460 – £500 As PMLD Learning Support Assistant: Provide personalized one-on-one and small group support for students with PMLD, encouraging their independence and development. Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that meet each student's unique needs. Assist with personal care needs such as feeding, mobility, and hygiene, ensuring students' dignity, comfort, and safety. Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment that boosts student engagement and progress. Work with the SEN team to monitor and track progress, adapting teaching strategies where necessary. Utilize specialized equipment to aid learning and ensure accessibility for all students. Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student care. What We're Looking For: Proven experience working with students with PMLD in an educational setting. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young people with complex needs. Familiarity with communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, or similar (desirable). Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and safeguarding protocols. Relevant qualifications, such as Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent SEN-related diploma.
