Essity is a market leader in tissue products and household brands such as Cushelle and Velvet toilet tissue are produced at its largest UK site in Prudhoe, Northumberland, UK, where we have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Technician.

About The Role

Reporting to the Site Services Leader, you will work as part of a team of both mechanical and electrical technicians on key utilities and infrastructure day-to-day operations as well as projects. This is a permanent day-based role working Monday to Fridays.

We\’re looking for people who embody our values, aren\’t afraid to challenge, innovate, experiment, and move at a fast pace. We\’re always looking for ways to improve our products and ourselves. If this is you, we\’d love to talk.

What You Will Do

In this varied role you will have responsibility for maintaining the supply of site utilities from an electrical perspective, together with looking after the maintenance of site buildings and offices.

The role is varied and will include the following key areas:

You will manage contractors to deliver site maintenance tasks/improvements – this will include you scoping work, requesting quotes, creating permits, and managing works.

You will support the production site through undertaking routine, preventative and reactive mainly electrical maintenance tasks.

You will support necessary works to improve maintenance methodologies and practices.

You will support the operations in a flexible way – prioritising work daily.

This is a very busy and hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement projects and new ways of working are our daily focus.

Who You Are

Although it is desirable to have NVQ3 and HNC qualification in Electrical engineering (or equivalent) what is key is that you can demonstrate high competency skills in electrical engineering in ideally both installation and maintenance work.

Experience of working with contractors successfully and in an industrial environment

Excellent communicator and ability to challenge professionally

Have a flexible and ‘can-do’ approach with a strong focus on delivering results

You naturally succeed in a fast-moving environment where there may be multiple/dynamic challenges daily and you can react quickly and effectively under pressure

Experience of fixed wiring inspections and general electrical installations i.e lighting etc

Experience of alarm systems, fire protection electrical systems

Familiar with Microsoft Office Applications (outlook, word, excel)

SAP experience

If you have experience of working at both LV and HV that would be an added bonus, but not essential as we can train you.
