Team Leader – Highways & Vegetation Maintenance

Location: Based in Billericay, Essex (jobs up to 1.5 hours away)

Salary: Β£40,000 – Β£45,000 per annum

Shifts: Monday – Friday (night shifts: 6:30pm – 4:30am, occasional day shifts: 8:00am – 4:30pm). 80-85% of the work is on night shifts – so flexibility is essential! Most nights are job and knock, meaning early finishes once the work is done, and Fridays often finish earlier too.

You must hold a full UK Driving Licence & SSSTS to be considered for this position.

About The Role

We\’re looking for a Vegetation Maintenance Team Leader to join a specialist team maintaining Highways, A-roads, and Motorways across Essex and surrounding areas.

What We\’re Looking For

We need switched-on, keen, and motivated individuals who take pride in their work. You\’ll need to be reliable, flexible, and willing to get stuck in. Previous experience leading teams with a grounds maintenance setting or similar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead teams to meet daily targets
  • Ride-on mowing & robotic mowing
  • Hedge cutting & brush cutting
  • General grounds maintenance & vegetation clearance

  • CSCS Card
  • ROLO Card (BALI H&S)
  • Highways England Passport
  • Safety Critical Medical
  • Relevant tickets – Brush cutter, Chainsaw, Ride-on Mower, or similar
