PTSD Support Assistant – Bolton – ASAP

We are currently looking for a Bolton based experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with additional needs due to PTSD or other trauma, this can result in them displaying challenging behaviour at times. You will be working in a mainstream secondary school and supporting a student on a 1:1, full time basis. The role will initially be for 12 weeks, and will likely to continue until the end of the current academic year.

Children in Looked After Care

PTSD

Anxiety

Exclusion

Trauma

Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour

Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous

The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles

Confidence to make decisions

Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students

Empathy and understanding

Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development
