Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School is a 7-12 school with approximately 600 students from four vibrant Addison County towns. We believe that all students should have access to high-quality personalized, proficiency-based learning opportunities and authentic assessment practices. We seek to support all students to thrive at Mt. Abraham so that they are prepared for meaningful engagement in college, career, and community upon graduation.
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic physical education teacher for a long term substitute position working with students in our middle school and high school serving grades 7-12. The successful candidate will have the ability to foster positive relationships with students, be organized, and work collaboratively with teachers and administrators. Our desired candidate will be able to plan, organize, and implement a proficiency-based instructional program aligned with the SHAPE America standards.
We are excited to bring someone into our learning community who will engage all students in physical education while learning transferable skills that will prepare them for success as engaged students, productive community members, and citizens of our society.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Education.
- Candidates must have, or be eligible for, a Vermont Educator License with physical education endorsement.
- Previous experience in teaching or substitute teaching, preferably in middle and high school education.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and environments.
- Flexibility and willingness to collaborate with colleagues.
- At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
