Purpose and Summary Statement

Markets and sells lubrication products and other related merchandise and services to new and existing patrons and prospects. Responsible for lubrication product delivery and account maintenance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Utilizes target marketing and professional sales techniques, including the FS sales interview road map, emphasis of appropriate features and benefits, and contact management system when calling on patrons and prospects.
  • Responsible for meeting sales goals as established by supervisor, generating profitable market share growth in assigned territory.
  • Adheres to GROWMARK’s sales and marketing strategies and attends GROWMARK sales trainings as offered.
  • Markets and delivers lubrication products utilizing an efficient route delivery system.
  • Provides value-added lubrication products, services, and recommendations to patrons and prospects.
  • Works with other company salespeople to increase sales of lubricants and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains a documented record of company and customer owned tanks and equipment.
  • Installs and maintains customer and company bulk lubricant systems, obtaining customer signed equipment lease agreements on all company owned equipment at time of installation.
  • Ensures accurate communication of all relevant information around inventory management and billing of products and services.
  • Adheres to company credit policy.
  • Maintains department equipment and vehicles for safe and proper operating condition.
  • Works with Microsoft Office programs.
  • May be required to help other departments as needed during seasons of peak customer demand.

Other Job Functions

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Normally requires a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business, or the equivalent thereof, and 1-2 years or more of sales experience to demonstrate strong reasoning ability, technical aptitude and the ability to solve practical problems and handle customer inquiries and concerns.
  • Demonstrated essential abilities business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain Energy Advisor (EA) Certification and/or Energy Marketing Specialist (EMS) Certification.
  • Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions.
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL and a satisfactory driving record with the ability to obtain Tanker and HazMat endorsements.
  • Frequently required to lift 51 to 70 lbs.
  • Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
  • Must be willing to work beyond hours considered “normal.”
  • Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
