ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are seeking Consultants to join our dedicated medical team in assessing and managing patients exploring medical cannabis treatment options. If you would like to help shape the future of Medical Cannabis treatment in the UK, are a dynamic personality, with the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, we would love to hear from you.

The role involves contributing to robust clinical governance processes and providing high-quality care for patients seeking treatment through Montu. Comprehensive support, including training in competency-based frameworks and CPD-accredited medical cannabis education, will be provided.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Full GMC Registration

  • Completion of Specialist Training (CCST/CCT) or equivalent certification

  • On the GMC Specialist Register.

  • Demonstrated interest in medical cannabis therapies

  • Willingness to engage in clinical outcome data collection

TRAINING

Consultants are required to attend a recognised Medical Cannabis Course for Specialist Physicians. Currently, two such courses are available in the UK, the course fees for which will be provided for by Montu. Additionally, Montu will provide bespoke specialist training in prescribing cannabis-based medicines (CBMPs) prior to patient consultations.

Additional training will be delivered by Prof Anup Mathew (Consultant Psychiatrist) , Dr Gerard Sinovich (Pain Management Consultant) & Dr Michal Modestowicz (Consultant Neurologist).

Montu also offers training on in-house clinical protocols, including prescribing and system usage.

INDEMNITY

All clinicians operating within the Montu platform are required to hold professional and clinical indemnity insurance in accordance with UK regulatory guidelines.

SESSIONS

Each standard session consists of 4 hours of patient consultations. Clinicians can choose their preferred working days and hours, with sessions spread flexibly if needed.

To support onboarding, clinicians are required to commit to a minimum of 2 sessions per week/ 8 hours initially, to ensure they become proficient with Montu’s platform.

Appointment Durations:

Appointments are 15 minutes in length for new and existing patients as Montu operates a multidisciplinary approach, leveraging a clinical skills mix where nurses and pharmacists handle pre-consultation and follow-up prescribing tasks allowing Consultants to focus on prescribing and patient care.
