Job Opportunity: Assistant Financial Accountant

Location: Bracknell Head Office (minimum of 3 days in office)
Contract: Full Time, 12 month FTC MAT Cover (37.5 hours per week)

Join a fast-paced team supporting two leading mobility brands – UK Vans and Zipcar. We\’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Accountant to support our Senior Financial Accountant and UK Vans Finance Manager in delivering accurate, timely financial information.

What You\’ll Be Doing:

You\’ll play a key role in our month-end close, reporting, and compliance processes for the UK Vans brand, as well as supporting selected accounting tasks for the Zipcar business. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and posting journals in Oracle Fusion for revenue, accruals, prepayments, and bad debt provisions
  • Reconciling revenue and receipts between Sage 200 and our UK Vans operating system, and posting necessary adjustments
  • Assisting with P&L reviews and providing insightful variance commentary against forecast and plan
  • Completing monthly and quarterly financial reporting to business stakeholders and Group Finance
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations in line with Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) requirements
  • Supporting external and internal audits, tax submissions, and compliance processes
  • Managing intra-UK intercompany invoicing and reconciliation, ensuring VAT compliance
  • Collaborating with the Billings & Collections team to ensure correct financial treatment
  • Understanding and reviewing operational systems like Prohire and their financial impacts
  • Supporting Zipcar UK with customer invoicing and aged debt analysis
  • Participating in ad hoc projects and continuous process improvement initiatives

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Part-qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Experience with ERP systems – Oracle Fusion, Sage 200 experience desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate financial information clearly
  • Strong Excel skills and a good understanding of accounting principles
