Department: Academy Coaching.

Reporting to: Head of Academy Goalkeeping.

Role summary: Nottingham Forest Football Club is looking for a dynamic qualified part-time casual Pre-Academy Goalkeeper Coach to join our Category 1 Academy Coaching Department within the Pre Academy Phase. They will implement modern player development processes, report to the Head of Academy Goalkeeping, and be responsible for the technical development of the goalkeepers. They will create an exciting and innovative environment, support pre-academy goalkeepers within training and games, and deliver engaging session content to help develop Premier League quality players for the first team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide dynamic coaching to develop goalkeepers’ technical and physical development.
  • Support pre-academy goalkeepers within both training and games.
  • Research current trends in coaching/teaching, player development, and industry best practice to inform modern learning within the Academy.
  • Support our player development principles and implement high standards of practice across academy training and match days.
  • Contribute to the delivery of our coaching vision in line with player development KPIs.
  • In conjunction with age group coordinators, make informed recommendations regarding trialists and player retention.
  • Act in a manner appropriate to the Club, uphold academy standards, and encourage players to display academy behaviours.
  • Promptly communicate with the Academy Phase Leads regarding important information (e.g., late arrivals, non-attendance).
  • Participate in Continued Professional Development (CPD) activities to improve coaching quality and work, ensuring qualifications are up to date and additional relevant qualifications are pursued with Head of Coaching approval.
  • Where necessary and available, take part in scouting players within the Academy and support GK Development Centres and Open Days.
  • Complete all necessary administration to comply with EPPP requirements and the Football intelligence hub.

What Are We Looking For

  • Completed National Goalkeeping Coach Course.
  • UEFA C Licence.
  • FA Youth Award.
  • Knowledge of how young people learn.
  • Valid DBS/CRB check.
  • Safeguarding Children Certificate.
  • Dynamic delivery style both on and off the pitch.
  • FA Coaches Club Licence Maintenance.
  • Emergency First Aid (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with these age groups, preferably in an Academy or Centre of Excellence.
