Do you want to be learning whilst you are earning and keeping up to date with the latest technology?

If so, Learning Partners Academies network team are looking for an energetic and hardworking apprentice to join our small team, providing network support in Kings College Guildford and other schools remotely.

We work closely with Primary Goal who will provide your training remotely. You will gain amazing industry recognised qualifications without the need of going to college: –

  • Introductory Technical Concepts
  • Personal and professional development
  • Learning outcomes for CompTIA A+1001
  • Learning outcomes for CompTIA A+1002
  • Learning outcomes for CompTIA Cloud Essentials

You will gain valuable experience and a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification and be fully supported by our training provider (Primary Goal) throughout your apprenticeship journey. You will receive paid time off to undertake off the job training one day per week.

You will be working with an exciting new close-knit team working directly within the school. You will be assisting the Service Desk Lead and IT Technician as tickets come in, assisting staff and students across our schools. As you’ll be working in the helpdesk team you will be doing predominantly first line support but we feel that network staff should be given the opportunity for different projects so we will work with you on one of these projects to learn a specialty, for example: backup systems.

On completion of your apprenticeship, career opportunities may be available across our 12 schools where you will be able to continue training and attend seminars to maintain your knowledge.

What you will be doing!

  • Apprenticeship training delivered by Primary Goal.
  • As an apprentice you will be working in a school trust and carrying out the following duties: Helpdesk support resolving problems associated with operating systems, networks, software, user accounts and websites etc.
  • Provide first line support for staff who raise helpdesk tickets
  • Provide technical support to understand and troubleshoot issues
  • Creation of staff accounts throughout a range of programs and websites
  • Assist in system upgrades and system maintenance
  • Liaise with third party suppliers such as Internet Service Providers and vendors to retrieve quotes
  • Support with technology asset management

What we are looking for!

Working Week:
Monday to Friday 36 hours per week with a 40 minute lunch break. Four days a week in school and one day a week to study.

Salary:
£10,000for the first 12 months. The remaining 10 months of the apprenticeship will be paid at the National Minimum Wage according to your age.

Desired Qualifications:
We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.

Expected Duration:
15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment
This is a fixed term appointment of 20 months to run concurrently with your apprenticeship program.

We also offer a progressive step in some cases, onto our Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship programme.
