Job Summary

Reporting to the Mine Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily operation of a road haul truck in an active mining environment.

Types of Class A Truck Driver for Ore:

  • Ore Haul Driver Trainee (open to new graduates)
  • Work Schedule: 5/2 (five days on, two off) or 3/1 (three weeks on, one off), with both day and night shifts available
  • Must be able to work and pre-trip in all weather conditions and be willing to work long hours
  • Relocation Incentives: 60 days hotel stay and $3,000 relocation assistance ($1,000 after 30, 60, and 90 days). Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the terminal. Rehires must have been away for at least one year and require manager approval.
  • Retention Bonus: $3,000 for eligible candidates residing within 75 miles of the terminal. Details to be discussed during interview.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of driving experience within the last 3 years.
  • Ore Haul Driver Trainee: at least 6 months of driving experience or a valid truck certificate (in lieu of 1 year experience).
  • Current 1- or 2-year medical card, or documents within the last 6 months.
  • Ability to pass DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screenings, including drug tests, MVR, criminal background, PSP, FMCSA Clearinghouse, and CMV road test.
  • Ability to operate trucks off-road, on narrow roads, and steep inclines.
  • Excellent safety awareness and ethics.
  • Proficiency in English to communicate, understand traffic signs, and complete reports, as required by FMCSA.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Willingness to work long hours, including day and night shifts
  • Ability to safely climb ladders and walk on top of truck tanks
  • Prolonged standing and sitting as required
