A specialist engineering company is seeking a Support & Projects Installation Engineer to join their team. The company develops and delivers advanced control systems for gas and steam turbine-driven generating sets. This role offers varied and challenging work across UK power stations, offshore platforms, and international client sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Service and support of control, instrumentation, and auxiliary systems
- Scheduled site maintenance and calibration of systems
- Completion of site reports and quality documentation
- Recommissioning of systems after service
- In-house repairs and minor modifications to equipment
- Assisting in the installation of control systems
- Static commissioning and loop checking
- Supporting project engineers with system design and testing
- Office-based tasks when not on site, including documentation and spares assessments
Essential Requirements:
- Formal qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical engineering
- Practical experience working with rotating machinery
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and manage workload
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and valid passport
Desirable Skills:
- CompEx certification
- Functional safety qualification (e.g. TUV / SUD)
- Experience in the power generation sector
- Offshore certification (e.g. CCNSG Safety Passport, Vantage Card)
- Knowledge of PLC control systems (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens S7)
