This role is located in our business unit, Enitial, within the Cawood Scientific Field Services Division. Enitial, a division of Cawood Scientific, is the UK\βs leading provider of independent field monitoring and sampling services. Our highly skilled team of 80 technicians acts as the \βboots on the ground\β for customers throughout the UK, providing cost-effective on-site sampling, testing, and measuring of environmental conditions as well as checks on pollution levels. Our expertise in industrial and environmental monitoring, combined with our innovative control equipment, delivers a specialist service for customers looking for professional, reliable support. Our services are used to assist with permit and planning consent compliance, investigations for new development, and to support operational condition monitoring.
Job Description: Enitial (a division of Cawood Scientific) currently have an opportunity for a regional based Environmental Technician working within our Field Services Team. This role will conduct routine monitoring cross-functionally across Enitial services and activities and is predominantly site based. Reporting to the Area Manager, the individual undertaking this role will be competent across a range of services and encouraged to specialise in certain areas with the view of becoming a Senior Technician following extensive training and exposure on site.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine environmental monitoring across our service areas of Water and Compliance in accordance with company protocols, quality assurance requirements and our client\βs contract specifications.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of environmental control systems and client infrastructure.
- Provide a reliable, efficient, and professional level of service to our clients at Enitial.
- Liaise with clients on-site building a level of trust that leads to dependable, long term and positive relationships.
- Maintain Enitial\βs credibility by being the face of Enitial in the field and always portraying a positive image by keeping equipment, vehicles, and PPE clean.
- Respect company equipment and vehicles ensuring routine calibrations and maintenance is completed in line with company protocols.
- Work as a team within regions building and maintaining morale and actively offer help and assistance wherever possible.
- Report any deviations from methods or non-conformances through to Area Managers, Team Leader, Data Analysts and Account Managers that could impact upon data integrity or data gaps.
- Manage time efficiently, reviewing your own schedule and reporting through to the Scheduling / Project Controller ways in which works could be conducted more effectively.
- Manage data accurately and in line with client / company requirements. Report data through to the Data Analysts timely and in the correct format.
- Responsible for keeping safety at the forefront of field works and being proactive ensuring accidents and near misses are always reported straightaway to the Area Managers and client in line with our company accreditation and policy.
- Always compliant with the \βStay Safe\β remote working application when working out on-site.
- Liaise with laboratories and couriers ensuring samples taken in the field are always, to the best of your ability, compliant.
- Provide routine company admin through to central systems including expenses and comply with company policies and procedures and vehicle checks on a monthly basis.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- IT Literate and proficient in Microsoft Office
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Full UK Driving License
- Passion and experience of working outdoors and prepared to work in all weathers.
- Proven track record in problem solving and being proactive.
- Ability to work on own and manage own time proficiently.
- Exemplary communications when working remotely.
- Willingness to engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Flexible working hours, happy to work weekends, travel and overnight stays away from home.
- Some experience in environmental monitoring would be an advantage but not necessary as full training is provided.
