Sprinkler Design Engineer

Location: Cannock

Churches Fire is an industry-leading national Fire Security business that is rapidly growing. We are seeking a proactive and motivated Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our team. We have a proven track record of providing excellent opportunities across the country.

Requirements: Knowledge and experience within the LPS Supervision Scheme and a full UK driver’s license are essential.

The Role:

The Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for initial designs, amendments, as-fitted, and zone plan drawings. They may also undertake site inspections/surveys of mechanical system installations with a Project Manager. The role involves assisting Project Managers from system design through to commissioning and sign-off, including verification escalations and quote production.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Design fire protection systems to a high standard, including initial designs, amendments, as-fitted drawings, and zone plan drawings.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant standards.
  • Conduct surveys and assist in quotations for new and existing customers alongside Project or National Account Managers.
  • Perform site inspections during and after installations with Project Managers or NAMs.
  • Adhere to rigorous processes for surveying, quoting, and designing fire protection installations.
  • Operate relevant software, including AutoCAD and Full Hydraulic Calculations software.
  • Manage document uploads/downloads via LPC Portal and document management systems.
  • Assist with LPCB supervision and audits as required.
  • Ensure documentation compliance and accessibility for project managers.
  • Complete all administrative tasks, including certification for each job.
  • Stay informed on current legislation related to fire protection system design.
  • Make informed judgment calls on drawings and designs based on industry experience.

The Candidate:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of LPCB rules and BS EN 12845; LPCB basic qualification preferred.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Confidence in knowledge of sprinkler systems.
