We tailor our treatment for each patient and offer specialized programs for trauma, recurrences, older adults, first responders, and more. Our family program rebuilds, restores, or strengthens family relationships. As an Outpatient Primary Therapist, you\’ll facilitate family, individual, and group therapy sessions.

You\’ll work in various therapy settings, teaching patients to overcome past challenges and acquire skills for lasting recovery.
Position Overview: The Outpatient Primary Therapist plans, directs, and coordinates medically-approved programs for patients in hospitals, substance abuse facilities, or other institutions. You will motivate RCA clients and help them develop tools for recovery using evidence-based, person-centered practices.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Evaluate clients\’ mental and physical health, addiction, or behavioral problems and assess readiness for treatment.
- Help clients develop treatment goals and plans.
- Review and recommend treatment options with clients and their families.
- Assist clients in developing skills and behaviors necessary for recovery or behavioral modification.
- Identify behaviors or situations interfering with recovery.
- Educate families about addiction or behavioral disorders and help develop coping strategies.
- Refer clients to additional resources and services, such as job placement and support groups.
- Conduct outreach programs to identify signs of addiction and steps to avoid destructive behaviors.
- Oversee census within your area, ensuring adequate leads and directions where appropriate, and meet site census/budget requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Master\’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required; licensure as MHC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, or Ph.D. in Psychology preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in behavioral healthcare or substance abuse settings serving diverse populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Understanding of cultural and gender-specific issues, maintaining confidentiality, and providing excellent customer relations.
- Knowledge of individual, group, and family counseling.
