Overview
We are looking for an independent and process-driven individual to join our Data Innovation team for a 3-month contract at our Newcastle office.
This role will primarily provide assistant-level research support to help categorize (thematically code) large volumes of quotes and research notes.
The data is currently being captured through interviews and surveys by Chambers’ core survey and interviewing teams. The role will also support the development and training of AI solutions to assist this process, which will be used alongside human input.
This role suits someone with an interest in primary research and an aptitude for working with qualitative data. The role requires a methodical and consistent approach, with the ability to focus on repetitive tasks efficiently.
No prior experience in the legal market is required, but the successful candidate must quickly understand technical legal and business terms to comprehend the content they review.
Following training, the candidate should be able to make consistent decisions about research outputs with limited support from colleagues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supporting the processing of data from Chambers’ research projects to enable new product development
- Reading large volumes of research notes and survey responses
- Identifying themes highlighted in responses
- Thematically tagging or coding themes against predefined lists
- Recommending additions or adjustments to theme lists over time
- Supporting AI solutions to improve accuracy and consistency of data tagging
- Providing feedback and suggestions to improve research approaches and AI tools
- Working to high standards to meet output targets
