We have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to work for a private inpatient service based in the Northwest. This is a full-time role in which the postholder will be responsible for leading the assessment and treatment of 10 bedded unit.
Salary: £170,000 per annum
Position: General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Setting: 0.4 mixed acute, 0.6 Rehab
Location: Northwest
For this role, we’re looking for someone who is:
· MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
· Full GMC registration with license to practice
· Experienced & knowledgeable in EUPD
· Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
· Committed to continued professional development
· Desirable to have had significant experience of inpatient EUPD and treatment of disordered eating/self-harm management.
· Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
Your role will include:
· Working as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician as part of the MDT
· Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
· Timely assessment of referrals along with the MDT
· Conducting Comprehensive Assessments and Treatment Plannings with patients, external stake holders and carers.
· Chairing MDT/CPA Meetings; Adhering to organisational admission and discharge policy and procedures.
· Timely discharge GP notifications and discharge summaries.
· To contribute to the unit governance through expertise and leadership.
· Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings alongside giving evidence within these meetings.
· Participate in a non-resident second on call out of hours rota with a frequency of no more than 1:7
